West Bromwich Albion Personalised Football Calendar
A Brilliant Gift Idea For Fans Of The Baggies!
West Bromwich Albion was founded as West Bromwich Strollers FC in 1878. The club's name changed two years later, as many players joined the team from the Albion district. The Baggies turned professional in 1885, reaching the FA Cup final in the next three seasons. The club won the competition on their third attempt and went on to capture many more FA Cups over the years. West Bromwich FC won the First Division in 1920 and regularly challenged for a second title. By the 1950s, the Baggies were enthralling fans and pundits with stunning football and were even referred to as the 'Team of the Century'. The side consistently finished in the top five of the table and although league form declined in the 1960s, cup success continued. West Bromwich Albion fell down to the bottom divisions in the mid-1980s, but the Baggies have bounced back in recent years with further periods of top flight football.

Calendar Highlights
The Personalised West Bromwich Albion Calendars include a range of league fixtures and exciting cup ties, opening with the FA Cup final in 1931. The Baggies beat Birmingham City 2-1 to win the tournament for a third time and the club won a fourth FA Cup in 1954. One of the best matches from this cup run was the 3-0 victory against Tottenham Hotspur in the quarter-finals. In addition to a report on this fantastic match, the A3 Calendar also incorporates the 1-1 draw with Liverpool in the 1968 FA Cup campaign and the 3-5 win against Manchester United in 1978.
Our Calendar Gift also features the Baggies' 6-1 win against Coventry City in the 1965 League Cup and the 4-0 thrashing of Dynamo Bucharest in the second round of the 1968 European Cup Winners' Cup. By this stage, fading form in the league meant West Bromwich Albion had begun to be known as a cup side. The Baggies reminded the football world of their former league glory days by thrashing Manchester United 6-3 in the following season. West Bromwich FC seemed to enjoy playing football clubs from Manchester. In 1957, the team had embarrassed Manchester City with a stunning 9-2 victory. Although the club enjoyed isolated results, league form in general continued to decline. Our Personalised Calendar moves forward to the beginning of the club's resurgence in the 1990s.
In 1993, West Bromwich Albion beat Swansea City 2-0 in the Third Division play-off semi-finals, guaranteeing the club a trip to Wembley Stadium for the first time in over twenty years. The Baggies would beat Port Vale in the final to earn promotion to Division One (formerly Division Two, but renamed following restructuring of the leagues). By 2005, West Bromwich FC was back in the top flight. The club avoided relegation following a 2-0 win against Portsmouth at the end of the season in a day that would become known as 'The Great Escape'. West Bromwich Albion had been at the bottom of the table going into the final fixture, but several teams above them lost their matches. The Baggies were relegated at the end of the next season, but the team beat Queens Park Rangers 0-2 in May 2008 to win both the Championship and automatic promotion.
