Brilliant Diaries For Fans Of The Bantams!

Bradford City F.C. - also known as the Bantams due to the Bantam in their emblem - have been FA Cup winners, champions of both Division Two and Division Three, and have also enjoyed two years in the Premiership. After fighting relegation battles, financial trouble and tragedy, the club has developed a proud reputation of being a battling side that no other team could ever take lightly.

Our terrific Bradford Personalised Diaries incorporate twelve reproduced match reports from our newspaper archives, based upon a selection of the club’s most famous wins and iconic moments. These A5 diaries are a great gift idea, as they enable Bradford City fans to note down their daily schedule whilst reflecting on some of their favourite days from the past.

Diary Highlights

One of the most significant events featured in these Bradford FC Diaries is the FA Cup win of 1911. With two newspaper reports focusing on this special day, newer fans of Bradford City will be able to find out about the replay victory againstNewcastle that earned the club it’s first major trophy. Photographs of then captain Jimmy Speirs, who had also scored the winning goal, are additionally featured in your Football Diary.

The victory had also been important for the Bantams as it pulled more fans into their stadium. Bradford football supporters had previously been divided between this club and local opposition, Bradford Park Avenue. However, after the new supporters had long settled in and decades had flown past, tragedy occurred in 1985, as 56 Bradford City fans lost their lives in a tragic fire that had broken out in the Main Stand. A poignant report of the sad event is included in the A5 Diary, which was originally published the day after the event.

From more recent years, Diary highlights include; ‘We can beat Anybody!", which was claimed by then-manager Chris Kamara after Bradford had got to the top of Division One in 1997; ‘Crown Jewells’, which was the headline of the newspaper report that celebrated Paul Jewell masterminding a final day promotion to the Premiership; and ’Brad All Over..’ , a story dedicated to the dramatic 1-0 victory over Liverpool on the final day of the season in 2000. This ensured the Bantams would scrape past Wimbledon in the fight for Premier League survival.
