Personalised Valentines Day White Wine - Gift Details

It’s the most romantic day of the year. You’ve got the candles ready, the lights dimmed and your other half’s favourite meal cooking away in the kitchen. For the icing on the cake, why not treat them to a nice bottle of personalised white wine as well? It comes complete with two engraved glasses, so it’ll be a Valentine’s gift remembered long after the slap-up meal and soppy cards.

As for the white itself, there are three varieties to choose from. The first is a delicious Italian Pinot Grigio that’s bursting with flavours and aromas of peach and crisp apples. Medium bodied, this easy-drinking wine is also refreshingly light and dry on the palate, with lemony hints and a well rounded finish. As for what it goes with, it’s perfect with pasta and all fish dishes.

The second option is a crisp, dry Vin de Pays from the sunny vineyards of southern France. It’s made using a blend of maccabeu and vermentino grapes which are cold fermented to preserve the fresh lemony aromas and apple acidity. The result is a fresh white wine that’s ideal with fish, salads, poultry, cold buffets or as an apperitif.

And finally, there’s the best of the bunch – the Appelation Controllee. This Grand Vin De Bordeaux, from Chateaux Montcabrier, is a delicious Sauvignon Blanc Semillon, made using grapes harvested at day break to preserve aromatic freshness. The result is a wine with exuberant overtones of grapefruit and green apple that’s fresh and vibrant on the palate. It’ll go wonderfully with chicken or fish, but is equally at home as an aperitif.
